We are thrilled to announce the first-ever Adaptive Recreation Experience, a collaborative effort with our incredible partners: Oakland County Parks, the Disability Network of Eastern Michigan, and Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM). This event is designed to showcase hands-on adaptive sports and recreational opportunities, offering participants a chance to explore and engage in a variety of activities. Come and experience all that Michigan has to offer: from Adaptive fishing & Hunting, to Wheelchair Sports, Pickleball, Handcycling, Offroading, Archery, Golf – the list goes on and on.
What to Expect:
- Activities: Wheelchair basketball, sled hockey demos, archery, golf, sit volleyball, Pickleball, hand cycles, off-road handcycles, and more.
- Demonstrations: Cardio drumming, Jiu-Jitsu, para dance, and adaptive yoga, with new activities kicking off every 45 minutes.
- Local Connections: Meet nonprofit vendors sharing information about their upcoming adaptive events and services.
- Food Trucks: Delicious options will be available outside for all attendees.
